Condo Control Central and the New Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

Date Published : Oct-26-2018

Overview

As you may have heard, Canada’s new Anti-Spam Legislation (referred to as CASL) will be coming into effect on July 1, 2014. We are sending out this update in order to highlight the key points you should be aware of with regard to sending emails via Condo Control Central.
We are making system changes to ensure full compliance with the new legislation by July 1, and you can continue to use the system as normal. Due to your existing business relationship with your owners and residents (e.g., they either own or rent in the building), they have provided “implied consent” and no further consent from them is required. The new system changes will also make it easier for them to unsubscribe if they choose.

System Changes

To ensure compliance, we will be deploying the following changes to the system on June 30, 2014:

  1. Detailed Email Footer: The footer will now contain our company name, your condo name, and our full mailing address to ensure it is very clear where the email is coming from.
  2. Improved Unsubscribe Mechanism: each email sent from our system will have an unsubscribe link in the footer.

Notice to Owners & Residents

On Monday, June 30, we will be sending out the below one-time notice to all owners and residents who reside in CCC buildings within Canada to ensure they are aware of the upcoming changes.
Finally, because of your status as a Condo Control Central customer, you will continue to receive CCC service updates (such as this one), uninterrupted. No further action or confirmation is required, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
If you have any questions about CASL or CASL compliance, please contact our support team via our Support Portal, at https://support.condocontrol.com.
Sincerely,
Brian Bosscher
